Printable KitsThe following are web sites from which you can download printable kits for free. The kits are in a variety of scales. The downloaded image should be printed on quality card and then assembled using normal card modelling techniques. Each site gives details of the method of download and image types. Some will require an Abobe Acrobat Reader (.PDF files) while others are in JPEG or GIF format and can be printed from a browser. Some are compressed in Zip files and you will require suitable software such as Winzip to expand them.
Assotram website from Albert Gonzàles has a paper kit page which includes a number of models from Spanish systems.
Bastelbogen-online provides models of Berlin trams and also the Berlin S-bahn and U-bahn
Brussels Paper Trams from Raymond Vancampenhout has tramcar kits in approximately 1:52 scale.
Diormix give us a London E1 in 1/50 scale, based on the Lesney "Matchbox Models of Yesteryear" car. Also a "Greyhound" bus
Piere Gauriat has H0 scale models of the Sprague-Thomson carriages for the Paris Metro.
Gdynia Transport in Poland has a page of card models that includes a number of their trolleybuses
Linz AG Linien have an H0 model of a Pöstlingbergbahn tramcar. (direct 436 kb pdf download)
Michelis Modelle sell card kits but on its free download section has four German trams.
Ray Morris has provided a kit in 1:150 scale for a Blackpool Railcoach based on a Terry Russell drawing.
Nottingham Express Transit are providing an A4 size card kit of one of their cars as a 1.82 megabyte PDF.
Papiermodelle have kits in 1:87 scale for Stuttgart, Hannover and some Japanese trams. Go to the section on railway models.
Scalescenes sell building kits in 0, 00 and N, but there is a free sample waiting shelter.
Volk's Electric Railway Association have an 0 gauge model of a Volk's car of 1883.
In 2000 Stuttgart transport produced two models in 00 scale. They are no longer available but we have kept copies and they can be downloaded from us here. If your system will allow it, with a right-click on the link below (recommended) you can save the .PDF file to disk for viewing and printing off-line at a later date. However, if you click on the link, the file will be loaded directly into your Adobe Acrobat Reader for display on screen.
